Juda math and engineering teacher Scott Anderson receives the Energy Educator of the Year award from Annie Baker, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point KEEP program director, at the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education on April 27 at The Garden in Milwaukee.

JUDA — Scott Anderson, a math and engineering teacher for Juda High School, was selected by the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program, in partnership with Alliant Energy, to receive the 2019 Energy Educator of the Year award.

Nominated by their administrators and peers, this annual award serves to recognize and reward exemplary educators who have made energy education a priority in their teaching and outreach initiatives.

Energy Educators of the Year make a difference by improving energy literacy in Wisconsin. Anderson was selected because of his long-term dedication to provide students opportunities to engineer real-world solutions with a global impact.

Scott Anderson challenges Juda High School students to engage in real-world learning and take action. For 13 years, Anderson’s math and engineering classes have helped the district win multiple grants and implement various energy projects, helping the school work toward its 10% on-site green energy goal.

Recognized alongside Anderson this year was Aleisha Miller with the City of River Falls. Awards were presented at the Celebration of Excellence in Environmental Education Awards Banquet hosted by the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education on Saturday, April 27 at The Garden in Milwaukee.
