MADISON - Fourteen Juda FFA members attended the Wisconsin FFA Convention Monday, June 10 through Thursday, June 14.
The Juda FFA Quiz Bowl team, consisting of Kelsey Cramer, Danielle Dieckhoff, Kayla Niedermeier and Matt Schmitt, was one of 10 teams competing at the state convention. The team was defeated by the Waupaca FFA Quiz Bowl Team, which placed second in the competition. Juda's team won the district competition and the sectional competition to earn the honor of competing at state.
Seven members of the Juda FFA were selected to participate in the State FFA Honors Chorus. Singing altos were Jessica Jordan, Camilla Klar and Brianna Knudtson. McKayla Trotter sang soprano. Those who sang tenor were Todd Davis, Luke Jordan and Jason Roth. These students will also perform with the Wisconsin FFA Honors Chorus at the Wisconsin State Fair in August.
Trotter won the talent competition while performing a duet with Josiah Madison of Barron. They have been nominated for National FFA Convention competition.
Bryan Cramer received a gold rating and was recognized on stage for his Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award on Tuesday, June 11.
Joel Dieckhoff and Tim Allen served as official delegates at convention. Dieckhoff also received a scholarship from the Wisconsin FFA Alumni to attend the Washington Leadership Conference this summer.
The Juda FFA Chapter received an award for having 100 percent of their agriculture education students as FFA members and received second place for highest percentage of school population as FFA members. FFA members make up 54 percent of the middle school and high school student population. While in Madison, the group toured WKOW-TV Channel 15.
