JUDA - Juda BIG on Character started not because of anything wrong at Juda, but because our world is starting to demand leaders of strength, leaders who have the ability to use traits such as responsibility, respect, honesty, caring and fairness to make the correct decision when placed in difficult situations.
An initiative like this is a major undertaking that requires funding. Many businesses in the area were quite generous to help start the program, since it is run outside of the school budget. This type of support is imperative and requires ways of raising funds for materials, speakers, etc.
"The needed funding cannot be done through these small things," stated Karen McKay, the volunteer director of the Initiative. "This issue led us to the raffle calendar idea."
The Juda BIG on Character raffle calendar is a unique idea. It is a 2010 calendar featuring Juda's students, and it has 111 drawings for prizes throughout the year. After purchasing a calendar you are entered into all 111 drawings, with over $2000 in prizes. Only 700 calendars are printed meaning you have a great chance of winning. "Best of all, winners get the check mailed to them, so no need to worry. If you win the $500 grand prize on September 1, 2010, the check will just show up in your mail box!" said McKay.
