PLATTEVILLE - Juda High School and Albany High School were division four winners at the 40th annual University of Wisconsin-Platteville high school math contest, which was held on Nov. 7.
Forty-nine teams participated and were broken into four divisions based on high school enrollment numbers, with the top three teams in each division receiving a plaque.
The other division four winner was River Ridge.
Each team consisted of 14 students in two levels. Level one students were freshmen and sophomores, while level two were juniors and seniors. Individual awards were given to students in each level who received a high score.
"This event provides students interested in mathematics with an opportunity to compete in an individual and team contest and win prizes based on their ability," said Cinda Furry, UW-Platteville mathematics department academic associate who organized the contest. "It gives those students an opportunity to visit UW-Platteville and hopefully have a positive experience here."
