MONROE — More than half of women aged 50 and older experience bladder or bowel control issues, ranging from minor inconveniences to life-altering conditions. These challenges often lead to embarrassment, isolation, and a loss of confidence. However, help is available.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is offering Mind Over Matter: Healthy Bowels, Healthy Bladder — a proven workshop designed to empower women with the tools they need to manage and/or even prevent incontinence. Mind Over Matter provides valuable information, group activities, and simple at-home exercises and dietary adjustments to help women take charge of their health.

Even women who do not currently experience incontinence can benefit from this workshop, as proactive steps can delay or even prevent future symptoms.

Women (50 years or older) should consider joining virtually for this life-changing workshop on the following dates:

●  Tuesday, March 18

●  Tuesday, April 1

●  Tuesday, April 15

Each session runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. via Zoom. To ensure participants are comfortable using the platform, an optional Zoom Practice Session will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11. Attendance at all three sessions is highly recommended to participate.

The suggested donation for the program is $15 to help cover costs. Spots are limited, and pre-registration is required. There are no residency restrictions — women from any county or state are welcome to join.
