Many clubs supplement their regular meeting dates with fun club outings or field trips where members can learn about something new in their area. Members of the Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H club recently posed for a picture while visiting the Argyle Fiber Mill.

MONROE — Creativity, Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, Compassion, Resilience and Teamwork are are all valuable character and life skills that 4-H grows in youth. Join a local 4-H club. 

4-H is open to all youth in 5-year-old kindergarten through high school, whether youth live in the city, village or country. No matter what a youth’s gender, race, ethnicity, creed or ability, 4-H offers the opportunity to have fun, learn new things, meet others, and be active in community service. 

Green County 4-H has 17 community 4-H clubs across the county to choose from. Families are invited to check out a couple different clubs before selecting a club that best fits their family’s schedule, location and interests. Get started by contacting the Organizational Leaders of clubs that you are interested in learning more about and potentially visiting.

Youth can join 4-H any time of year, but those who want to be able to show off their learning and projects at the 2019 Green County Fair will need to be enrolled in a 4-H club by Nov. 1. 

The financial cost of becoming a 4-H members is minimal, at an average of only $15 per member, per year; financial assistance is also available for families in need.
