January blood drive garners 186 units

MONROE - Six new donors and several other donors made the Red Cross Blood Drive in Monroe a success on Jan. 31, organizers say. There were 2020 potential donors who presented and 186 productive units gathered, just short of the goal of 220 units.

The first time donors were: Amanda Albaugh, Helen Wilson, Kathy Einbeck, Brian Geissbuhler, Brianna Einbeck, and Jane Gaulrapp. Three-gallon donors were: Carol Ethridge, and Jason Thomas. Four-gallon donor was Jane Lee. Five-gallon donors was Carolyn Williams. Twelve-gallon donor was Cinda Field. Fourteen-gallon donor was Barb Jackson and 16-gallon donor was Gloria Schwartzlow.

The volunteers were community members, the National Honor Society, and the Methodist Church women. The next Red Cross Bloodmobile will be April 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Monroe.
