Introduction to Zen Oct. 5

MONROE — Introduction to Zen Practice will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at Great Plains Zen Center, W7762 Falk Rd. The facility is wheelchair accessible and pre-registration is requested.

Participants in this workshop will receive instruction in how to do Zen meditation and will learn about the types and goals of Zen practice, the benefits, and how to keep practice at home going successfully. 

Zen can be practiced by people of any religious tradition and can help with reducing everyday stress, promoting clarity of mind, concentration and compassion toward all beings.

Susan Myoyu Andersen, Roshi, has practiced Zen for over 40 years. Currently, she teaches at Great Plains Zen Center in Monroe, as well as in Beloit, and Palatine, Illinois.
