OAKLEY - Union United Methodist Church will host its annual ice cream social from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 7 in the lower level of the church, on County K, Oakley.

The full menu includes barbecues, hot dogs, homemade salads and desserts; and ice cream sundaes. The cost is $6 for adults, with discounted prices for children, and carryouts available.

There will also be free blood-pressure screenings, face-painting and balloons for kids.
