MONROE — Kelly Johnson, RN, a nurse at Monroe Clinic Hospice, received the DAISY Award based on a nomination from a recent experience with a patient’s family.
Her nomination shared that “Kelly’s actions exemplify the selfless attitude and outstanding compassion that is engrained in the nursing profession. She has gone above and beyond in caring for patients beyond the physical care. She embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for.”
Kelly became a hospice nurse on her birthday in 2015 and says it was “the best birthday gift I ever gave myself.” She also was honored with a DAISY Award in 2018.
The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care delivered by nurses every day. Kelly is one of three million nurses nationwide who represent the largest healthcare profession.
