The Monroe Park and Recreations after school program is held at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.
The program not only helps students with homework but offers arts and crafts, games, gym activities and outdoor activities.
This year the children have been working on “acts of kindness.” Anytime someone observes a child showing kindness they put a fuzzy pompom into a small bucket. Once the bucket is full the children receive a special treat. This week the children were treated to hot dogs, a special speaker and a train presentation from Paul Schoenike.
