Historical Society to meet Wednesday

MONROE - The Green County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the Monroe Public Library.

George Buss, Freeport, will be the speaker. Buss is nationally known for his interpretation of Abraham Lincoln. Buss will discuss Illinois Sen. Stephen A. Douglas through objects and primary source documents from his exhibit "From the Shadow of Lincoln: Stephen A. Douglas." The exhibit has been in various locations throughout the Midwest including the Civil War Museum in Kenosha.
