MONTICELLO - The Monticello Area Historical Society will be holding a Mystery Picture program along with their general meeting on Thursday, Jan. 28, in the North Room at Zwingli Church in Monticello. The program will begin with some video shorts donated to the museum by Kay and Bill Dickson. The first video runs about six minutes and it contains video of the 1950 Monticello Homecoming parade, Ed Riese's model steam engine, Ora Prisk's steam engine and threshing machine, and the 1928 Monroe air show. The second video runs about three minutes and contains the 1928 excavating of the Monroe sewage treatment plant, the 1928 excavating of the new Monroe High School, and the Clarence Covered Bridge. The mystery portion of our program involves a picture slide show, put together by Mr. Dooley, which contains unidentified people and places that the museum needs to have identified and will be asking for identification help from the audience...so jog your memory and come on down to the program. The general meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with the program to follow at 7:15 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
