ALBANY - Albany Middle School students hosted a Historical Wax Museum on Tuesday, April 13.
The museum was held on the Albany Middle School floor of the school and students were dressed as famous historical figures. The open house of the museum was a culmination event of research and project work about each student's chosen historical figure.
During this event, the Albany Middle School collected "Coins for Karl." Karl Hulbert has been a lifetime resident of Albany and recently suffered a stroke. Karl is the husband of Bobbi Hulbert; they are the parents of five boys, Clay, Kyle, Bryce, Lance and Cole. This family has given a great amount to the community of Albany over the years. This was an opportunity for Albany Schools to give back to Karl and his family during his time of recovery.
Each wax figure (middle school student) had a donation can next to them while posing. Spectators brought the wax figure to life by donating a coin or coins. The wax figure spoke about who they were and gave important information about their life for each donation that was given.
All of the money that was collected from the cans was given to the Hulbert family to use for gas, groceries, medical bills and home accessibility improvements for Karl's return. The students raised a total of $1,641 for the Hulbert family. Bobbi Hulbert was very emotional and appreciative and said that it would help greatly.
