MONROE — Local postal carriers will be collecting non-perishable donations for the Green County Food Pantry on Saturday, May 11.
The National Association of Letter Carriers, in partnership with the United States Postal Service and the National Association of Rural Letter Carriers, sponsors the annual Stamp Out Hunger event. This is the largest, single-day food drive in the United States. This is the 27th annual food drive, and the total collected throughout the United States is well over 1.5 billion pounds.
To donate, place non-perishable food items by your mailbox Saturday, May 11, and the letter carrier will donate it to the Green County Food Pantry in Monroe. To help volunteer at the Green County Food Pantry to sort donated food, or with questions, call 608-325-9686.
