DARLINGTON - Lafayette County Home and Community Education is celebrating its 65th anniversary with a spring fling on Thursday, April 22, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington. All past and present members and friends are invited to the spring fling. Registration is at 6 p.m. and the meal is set for 6:30 p.m.
The evening will also serve as a membership drive. Any person who is not a member now, but wants to join, will get free membership for the year of 2010. The annual Cultural Arts Contest will be held. Winners will have their entries entered in the state contest in the fall.
Various members will be honored. Honorary members are the ladies who have been active since the beginning - Violet Gertsch of the Red Rock club, Marion Jorgenson of the Van Matre club, Nellie Berget and Wilma Hollinger, both individual members. Carol Mosley left for a few years but is back as a member of the Red Rock Club.
