HCE members honored

MONROE - The Green County Home and Community Education fall council meeting was held on Nov. 14 at the Moose Lodge in Monroe. The speaker was Mae Burgy from the Monticello Historical Society. Bridget Muchon-Humphrey spoke about projects, and certificates were given to the Bookworm Readers.

Three hundred dollars was raised for scholarships. A lunch was followed by a presentation of honors and awards to 15 people who had been members for 55 years or more.

The following is a list of those who were honored and the number of years they have been members: Rose Beach, 62; Donna Douglas, 53; Phyllis Flannery, 55; Kathryn Hanson, 67; Beverly Hartwig, 66; Arleen Hintzman, 61; Donna Krebs, 53; Donna Ladwig, 56; Sylvia Mahlkuch, 64; Joyce Moen, 66; Ardellis Rufener, 55; Rosemarye Showers, 58; Marian Trumpy, 67; Barb Wyss, 61; and Jan Wyss, 60.
