JUDA - The 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards has named Shad Hanson as a 2015 honoree of his community.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program selected Hanson, a junior at Juda High School, among a group of young volunteers to be considered for the state level recognition.

Hanson is the grandson of Tim and Debbie Myers.

To qualify for the award, Hanson was required to submit an application and resume of the volunteer work he has done.

Three areas he referred to in his application were Family Promise, Loaves and Fishes, and several other community service projects through his 4-H club.

His high school principal, Traci Davis, was also required to provide information to complete the application.

The award of honoree was presented on behalf of John Strangfeld, Prudential Financial chairman, and the JoAnn Baroletti, National Association of Secondary School Principals executive director.
