MONROE - The Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble of Madison will present a free public performance titled "Ringin' Spring Handbell Concert" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church of Monroe, 2227 4th St.

The group's artistic director, Mark Bloedow, is also founder of Maestro Productions, a non-profit community-based music performance organization, as well as music director/organist at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison.

The program will open with Cynthia Dobrinski's exuberant original composition, "A Jubilant Rondo."

Other highlights include a unique setting of "For the Beauty of the Earth" by Brian Childers; "Cantad al Senor" (Oh, Sing to the Lord) arranged by Kevin McChesney; and audience sing-alongs of "Let There Be Peace on Earth" by Dobrinski and "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee."

Two selections will be performed with the church's 39-rank Berghaus pipe organ.

As one of Maestro Productions performing groups, the Ringing Badgers is a community-based handbell choir in Madison and includes handbell musicians from primarily southern Wisconsin.

The group made its debut at the Handbell Musicians of America Area 7 Festival Conference in 2012 in Duluth, Minnesota, and performed for the Area 7 Festival Conference in 2014 in La Crosse.

In June, the ringers will travel to the 2016 Area 7 Festival Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Ringing Malmark handbells and choir chimes, the ensemble enjoys an exciting performance schedule each season, presenting concerts in collaboration with other ensembles that are part of Maestro Productions, as well as guest appearances with other groups and solo concerts.

A freewill offering will be accepted at the concert.

The United Methodist Church of Monroe is handicapped-accessible with ample parking.
