MCCONNELL, Illinois — The churches of McConnell will be hosting a Halloween Hayride and Bonfire Night from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the McConnell United Methodist Church, 211 N. Hulbert Rd. 

There will be hayrides at around 5:30 p.m., a bonfire to roast hotdogs and make smores, along with other food and drinks, games for prizes and Halloween candy. Families are welcome and should wear costumes. The event will be held rain or shine.
