ARGYLE - The Argyle American Legion Auxiliary Unit 251 is seeking donations for its annual drive for men and women veterans at the Madison VA Hospital.
Last year's donations and items were worth about $6,200. The money received purchased three laptop computers, one for the organ transplant department and two for the head trauma unit, and money was also used for coupon books for them to purchase items at the store.
The VA Hospital is requesting the following items: Socks, sweat shirts, sweat pants and underwear for the clothing room. Other items include: Afghans, lap robes, small quilts, decks of cards, forever postage stamps, small toothpaste, tooth brushes, combs, hair brushes, nail clippers, nail files, greeting cards, word search and crossword puzzles, and tray favor snack items.
Donated items can be brought to the Argyle Community Building kitchen, 401 E. Milwaukee, by Dec. 1.
