MONROE - The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Green County will hold a free kick-off brunch starting at 9 a.m. Feb. 13, at the Monroe Clinic Café conference rooms, with a formal presentation at 9:30 a.m.

The public is invited to the kick-off to learn how to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer.

The program will highlight how the community has benefited from funds raised and will review plans for the 2016 Relay for Life event. Guests will also have the opportunity to register a team for the Relay for Life event, which will be Saturday, June 18 at the Brodhead High School track.

The Relay for Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, to remember loved ones lost and to take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay for Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.
