Green County Master Gardeners to tour Hawk's Mill

BROWNTOWN - The Green County Master Gardeners will be holding its monthly tour at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Hawk's Mill Winery in Browntown. Anyone interested in basic guidelines for growing grapes and making wine is welcome to join the association at the tour location. Being a Master Gardener is not required.

Rick and Teresa Joranlien, owners of the Hawk's Mill Winery, will provide a brief tour of their vineyards and wine-production facility. Their presentation entitled "Intro to Vineyard Management and Wine Production" will include discussions about general practices in the vineyard. The winery has a log cabin feel, with the added benefit of a spectacular view. All of the wines are named for the scenery and wildlife native to the area. The Green County Master Gardeners Association has meetings or tours on the fourth Thursday of the month from February through October. Anyone interested in horticulture and gardening is welcome to join the association and one does not have to be a Master Gardener to be a member.
