MONROE — Green County Master Gardener Association (GCMGA) will present scholarships to qualifying youth who are enrolled in secondary education in a horticulture related field of study. Applicants may attend a four-year university or a Technical College.
In order to apply for the scholarship, the applicant must be a graduate of a Green County area High School or a Green County resident continuing their education after high school. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage individuals to take advantage of continuing educational opportunities in a field related to horticulture. The scholarships will be awarded after the student has successfully completed one semester of study and has sent the scholarship committee proof of re-enrollment for the next semester.
Requirements include completing an application, supplying the names and contact information of three references, giving a brief explanation of their need for this scholarship and the significance of its benefits to your future plans, including personal goals and objectives.
Up to $1,000 will be distributed annually at the discretion of the Green County Master Gardeners Association. Applications are due by April 30 and scholarship recipients will be announced in May.
