MONROE - The Green County Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m., March 16, the Monroe Library (second floor), Monroe.
Rick Maliszewski will discuss the origination of abstracts beginning in the 1640s in the Eastern United States through Green County's 1840s and beyond.
He will also explain record keeping and abstract formats. A demonstration of index records will be on display including a few old interesting records and old abstracts. Further discussion will include the congressional surveying system and how it changed the indexing of real estate records.
