MONROE — The Green County Heart of the Wheel Sale averaged $2,086 on 55 live lots. The sale was held on Saturday, May 8, at the Green County Fairgrounds.
“We were excited to be back in action with an outstanding group of cattle for this year’s sale,” said Brooks Hendrickson, sale chair. “The lineup was impressive and we received many compliments on the quality group we put together.”
Hendrickson chaired the sale along with Brian Behnke and Randall Smith.
“The sale was a true testament to the talent within our county,” said Hendrickson. “From the young group of guys clipping and prepping the cattle to the in-county consignments, sale management and promotion.”
The sale was hosted by the Green County Holstein Breeders Association. Kyle Demmer served as the auctioneer and Brian Behnke read pedigrees.
“Thank you to all of our consignors, buyers, donators and sponsors — we greatly appreciate your support,” said Hendrickson. “We’re looking forward to putting together another great group of animals for next year’s sale.”
The Green County Holstein Breeders Association is a passionate group of Holstein breeders from Green County. Proceeds from the Green County Heart of the Wheel Sale help fuel the excitement of Junior Holstein members through scholarships and awards.
