MONROE - A large turnout of Green County 4-H members, volunteers, family and friends were in attendance for the 2009 Green County 4-H Awards and Recognition Banquet Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Monroe Middle School. Emcees for the event included John Klossner, New Glarus 4-H, and Jessica Schieldt, New Glarus 4-H, along with Pam Burke, retiring Adult Leaders president, and Alissa Grenawalt, 4-H and Youth Development Agent, UW-Extension Green County.

James W. Crowley 4-H Dairy Leadership award recipient(s) have excelled in their dairy project as described in the scholarship application. The top winner received a medallion in April 2009 and winners advanced to the state interview which was held at the Wisconsin State Fair in August. Youth will be recognized again with certificates. 2010 4-H Trip Delegates
Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference - Rrecipients will attend the Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference in Madison. Selection was through the EZ and ME Awards process. The trip is partially sponsored by the Green County 4-H Adult Leaders and Junior Leader Associations. Dates for next year: June 21-24, 2010. 2010 State 4-H and Youth Conference delegates are: Julia Meyer, York; Ben Swedlund, Hiawatha; Rachel Nash, Firefly 4-H.
Citizenship Washington Focus - Green County 4-Hers will go to Washington D.C. for a week during June or July. 4-H Youth are selected to attend this leadership program held at the National 4-H Center. Participants learn the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders. The week consists of participatory workshops, speakers, committee work, field trips and social events. 2010 Citizenship Washington Focus delegates are: Grant Barnes, York; Carissa Brooks, Clarno; Rebecca Stauffacher, Hiawatha; Rachel Wellnitz, Clarno.
The Emerald Club Award goes to volunteers in the Green County 4-H Program who have served 25 plus continuous years as a 4-H volunteer. Recipients are: Alice Carrol-Dierickx, Dayton Dairylanders, and Pat Sleiter, Town and Country Kids/Green County.
The Volunteer of the Year Award recipient has made outstanding contributions affecting a cross-section of 4-H members throughout Green County over the years. This award is sponsored by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation. Volunteer of the Year Award winner: Roger Vogel, Hiawatha.

The "Step Beyond" Award - is established in memory of Adrian M. Brauer. Adrian was a Green County 4-H volunteer who enjoyed working with youth in the cloverbud, performing arts, communication arts and mechanical sciences areas of the 4-H program. Recipients will have their name listed on a wall plaque to distinguish their dedication and efforts to take that "Step Beyond" in Green County 4-H. Criteria for earning this award includes, earning the bronze, silver, gold and emerald pins, filled out a county record book for at least 7 years, earned the outstanding achievement award, active in county/district/state or national levels for at least 4 years. 4-H clubs who do window displays to promote National 4-H Week earn the chance to earn cash awards for their efforts. Dairy Promotion awards: The following clubs receive gift certificates directly from Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board for this past year's dairy promotion activities: Dairy Promotion Participants - Hiawatha 4-H Club.
James W. Crowley 4-H Dairy Leadership award recipient(s) have excelled in their dairy project as described in the scholarship application. The top winner received a medallion in April 2009 and winners advanced to the state interview which was held at the Wisconsin State Fair in August. Youth will be recognized again with certificates. 2010 4-H Trip Delegates
Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference - Rrecipients will attend the Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference in Madison. Selection was through the EZ and ME Awards process. The trip is partially sponsored by the Green County 4-H Adult Leaders and Junior Leader Associations. Dates for next year: June 21-24, 2010. 2010 State 4-H and Youth Conference delegates are: Julia Meyer, York; Ben Swedlund, Hiawatha; Rachel Nash, Firefly 4-H.
Citizenship Washington Focus - Green County 4-Hers will go to Washington D.C. for a week during June or July. 4-H Youth are selected to attend this leadership program held at the National 4-H Center. Participants learn the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders. The week consists of participatory workshops, speakers, committee work, field trips and social events. 2010 Citizenship Washington Focus delegates are: Grant Barnes, York; Carissa Brooks, Clarno; Rebecca Stauffacher, Hiawatha; Rachel Wellnitz, Clarno.
The Emerald Club Award goes to volunteers in the Green County 4-H Program who have served 25 plus continuous years as a 4-H volunteer. Recipients are: Alice Carrol-Dierickx, Dayton Dairylanders, and Pat Sleiter, Town and Country Kids/Green County.
The Volunteer of the Year Award recipient has made outstanding contributions affecting a cross-section of 4-H members throughout Green County over the years. This award is sponsored by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation. Volunteer of the Year Award winner: Roger Vogel, Hiawatha.

The "Step Beyond" Award - is established in memory of Adrian M. Brauer. Adrian was a Green County 4-H volunteer who enjoyed working with youth in the cloverbud, performing arts, communication arts and mechanical sciences areas of the 4-H program. Recipients will have their name listed on a wall plaque to distinguish their dedication and efforts to take that "Step Beyond" in Green County 4-H. Criteria for earning this award includes, earning the bronze, silver, gold and emerald pins, filled out a county record book for at least 7 years, earned the outstanding achievement award, active in county/district/state or national levels for at least 4 years.
