“The Foundation believes — as is reflected in our recently revised vision and mission statement — that as a collective of communities, northwest Illinois is ‘Stronger, Together’,” said Michelle DeHaven Quast, CEO at The Foundation for Northwest Illinois. “The work of the Greater Freeport Partnership (and other award recipients), embody the collaboration that is needed for the region to continue on the path toward economic vitality, where there is both equity and opportunity for all to thrive.”

The Partnership’s award was accepted by Executive Director Andrea Schultz Winter.

“We are honored and excited by the recognition of our economic development work in Freeport and Stephenson County. Economic development is not only the vision of future industry, but also builds communities and culture where people want to invest and spend their time. The work of the Partnership’s multi-faceted approach engages all businesses and residents to work toward the progress we all know is possible,” Schultz Winter said.

The Lena Business & Professional Association (LBPA) was also awarded the Craig Wilson Rural Vitality Award for their work in promoting shopping with local businesses.
