Genealogical Society to meet Oct. 4

MONROE - Letters and Diaries" are the subject of the 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, program for the Green County Genealogical Society meeting to be held in the upper level of the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe.

John Stevenson of Janesville will speak on what genealogical information can be found in letters and diaries. He draws his information from the collection of material from his and his wife's family. He also will be speaking about some of the letters from the Korean War.

Stevenson has been a genealogist for many years and has researched for others while holding offices in the Walworth County Genealogical Society. He brings with him many years of experience and expertise.

These meetings are open to the public and beginners are encouraged to attend. A social time with refreshments precedes the program. Publications concentrating on Green County are available at the meetings.
