Genealogical group to discuss conferences

MONROE - "Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. What are they worth?" is the title of the program which will be given at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, for the Green County Genealogical Society.

They will meet for their ninth annual meeting in the Monroe Public Library, 925 15th Ave., upper level.

Dr. John Inman, vice president and Donna Kjendlie, president of the society, having attended several workshops and conferences will report on the value of attending conferences, workshops and seminars, the most recent being the Gene A Rama held recently in Manitowoc.

GCGS will also be holding an open house after this meeting at its newly organized Research Center, located at 1609 10th St., Ste. No. 4, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and the third Saturday.

It will also be open after regular meetings from 1 to 3 p.m. or by appointment.

The public is invited to both the meeting and the open house which will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on May 1. The Society is excited to be able to further the research of family historians along with the court house, the library and the historical society.
