MONROE — Lori Bessler, Wisconsin Historical Society Reference Librarian, will present “Organizing & Analyzing Your Research” and “Meet Mrs. George H. James: Writing a Biographical Sketch” starting at 8:45 a.m. in the workshop morning sessions on Sept. 7. Closing remarks will be around 3:15 p.m. The workshop will be held in the Monroe Clinic Hospital Cafeteria Conference Room.
Afternoon sessions include discussions on “Publishing Ideas and Costs” and “Using Social Media, Blogs, Etc.” Lunch is guaranteed for those who register by the early bird deadline of Aug. 23. Lunch is guaranteed for those registering by Aug. 23.

The GCGS Research Center (located in lower level of the Monroe Public Library) is available to the public for research. Normal Research Center hours are: Tuesdays and third Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and first Saturday (except September) after the meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. or by appointment by calling 608-921-1537. Main holdings are on Green County. Both Rock and Lafayette Counties are well represented as well as several other counties, states, countries, and ethnic groups. A large clipping collection of births, marriages and obituaries is available. Volunteers are on staff to help with research.
