MONROE- The South Central Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association will present its sixth annual gardening symposium titled "Gardening Inspirations for All Seasons - Flowers, Chickens, and Bugs, Oh My" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Peppercorn Banquets at Ludlow Mansion, 1421 Mansion Drive.
Keynote speakers will include:
Mark Dwyer, director of Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, will discuss new flowering annuals and perennials.
Susan Troller, author and owner of Cluck the Chicken Store, will discuss "Gardening with the Girls: The Pleasures and Pitfalls of Sharing Your Yard With Chickens."
Dr. Susan Mahr, Wisconsin Master Gardener Program, will be speaking on "What's Bugging My Garden."
Other topics and speakers will include:
"Irises 101" by Lloyd Ravet, Madison Iris Society.
"Growing Beautiful Roses in Wisconsin" by
Sherry Shaft, Madison Rose Society.
"Dynamite Dahlias" by Jeff and Monique Volden, of Daleyville.
"Orchids Made Easy" by Ken Cameron, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The seminar is open to the public.
