Fundraiser set for girl with cancer
Martin Fundraiser

FREEPORT — Hanna Martin, a 10-year-old girl from Cedarville, was diagnosed in May with stage three Burkitt lymphoma. For the next 6 months, she will be spending most of her time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for intensive chemotherapy. A fundraiser to help her family with the expenses that will arise, including hospital bills and travel costs, will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. July 21 at Logan’s Bar and Grill, 1805 S. West Ave.

Martin is the daughter of Tihanna and Nate Martin. She has a younger sister, Brianna, and an older brother, William. Her grandparents are Bill and Debbie Guinther of Orangeville. Martin is a fifth-grade student, president of the Kiwanis Kids club, member of the art club, likes archery and won medals in all four competitions in which she participated. She completed a hunter safety class but plans to go deer hunting with her father have been put on hold.

The fundraiser will include a silent auction, games, a dunk tank and a 50-50 drawing. Donations will be accepted at the door, online at Gofundme.com/3r3mg2-hope-for-hanna or mailed to her grandparents, Bill and Debbie Guinther, 307 Valleyview Drive, Orangeville, IL 61060. Checks should be made out to “Hanna Martin Foundation.”
