Friends of Pec group to meet Thursday, Dec. 19

LENA, Ill. — The Friends of the Pecatonica River Foundation will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at The Rafter’s Restaurant & Catering, 9426 W. Wagner Road, Lena.  The meeting will be held in the Cafe Dining Room with our President, Joe Ginger, presiding.  

The Friends of the Pecatonica River Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to improving all 58 miles of the Pecatonica River experience.  

This includes access, education, wildlife habitat, log jam extrication and river clean-up for the communities in Stephenson County.

The Log Jam Removal Project, the proposed Wes Block Landing, Atten’s Landing development, seeding and more will be discussed.

The second edition of the Pecatonica River postcard book is available at the meeting for purchase.  Another collector book created by Joe Ginger is also available. 

The meeting is open to the public and guest are encouraged to attend.  

The FPRF is available to attend meetings of other organizations as well.
