MONROE - The Southern Regional Center for Youth and Children with Special Health Care Needs, in collaboration with Family Voices of Wisconsin and Green County Human Services, will sponsor free training for parents who have children with special health care needs and the professionals that work with them from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, April 15, 22 and 29 at the Monroe Public Library upstairs meeting room. To register for this program contact Sharon Myhre at (608) 265-8955, myhre@waisman.wisc.edu.

The training, entitled "Did You Know? Now You Know!," will provide parents and providers with information on how to effectively advocate for children in healthcare and community settings. The training is part of five modules which provide parents with a comprehensive, primary overview of how to access the healthcare benefits available to their children and how to find creative ways to deal with waits for services. Family Voices provides information, training and support around health care and community services to families throughout Wisconsin, and supports essential partnerships between families and professionals.
