ALBANY — Albany High School inducted four new members into its Chapter of the National Honor Society on March 31. New members are chosen through a rigorous selection process. The first qualification is having a GPA of at least 3.5. Then qualifying students complete an application complete with letters of reference from community members outside of the school. The faculty council voted and factored in the applications and how each student meets the four pillars of NHS: Scholarhsip, Leadership, Service and Character.
Taking the pledge: Sophomores Lily Brewer, Alyssa Knauf, Olivia Roth and Junior McKenna Overland. New members were honored with certificates and flowers from NHS Advisor Megan Schulz and Superintendent William Trow after they took the NHS pledge. The four new members joined current members including seniors Libby Beck, Sydney Mortaloni, Kirsten Oliver, Madison Peters, Kaitlyn Trow and Payton Zurfluh; and juniors: Ivy Horn, Haley Knauf, Haley Mueller and Kristin O’Bel.
