MONROE - The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting "Football with the Cheesemakers" from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Monroe High School football practice field. This activity is being offered to boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade. Activities will include punting and kicking, passing and receiving, and much more with the MHS varsity football players. Monsignor Thomas Campion is donating a 2008 Campion Champion Football T-shirt to all the participants.
The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department will also be hosting "Volleyball with the Cheesemakers" from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Monroe High School gyms. This activity is being offered to girls and boys in the fourth through eighth grades.
The cost of the programs is $6 each. To register, stop by the Parks and Recreation office (basement of City Hall) at 1110 18th Ave. or call 329-2460. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
