Food, handmade items and flu shots available at dinner

LENA - The annual Bazaar and Beef and Noodle Dinner will start at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 3 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 625 Country Lane Drive, Lena.

Coffee and rolls will be served throughout the day, with a free-will offering. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu includes beef and noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, Jell-O salads, relishes, dinner rolls, pie or angel food cake, and coffee or milk.

The cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and under (dine-in only). Carryouts will be available until 1 p.m. by calling 815-369-4035. Call ahead for six or more dinners. Local delivery is available.

Tickets to a drawing will cost $1 per ticket/donation. First prize is a twin size sampler quilt, and second prize is an embroidered baby quilt. Available for sale will be homemade noodles (limited quantities), baked goods, homemade candy, Thanksgiving and Christmas items, crafts and all types of handmade items.

Flu shots will be available from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. by FHN, and free blood pressure screenings will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. by the St. John's Parish health nurses. St. John's is a handicapped accessible facility.
