Flag retirement ceremony to be held tomorrow

MONROE - Zilmer-Riley American Legion Post No. 84 will have a flag retirement ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the American Legion Post Home to dispose of unserviceable flags.

The official ceremony of the American Legion is the approved method of disposing of United States flags that have become worn, torn, faded or badly soiled.

Citizens are encouraged to replace worn and torn flags with new ones. Flags that need to be retried can be brought to the American Legion disposal box at the front of the building before Thursday, June 13 or anytime throughout the year.

The ceremony is open to the pubic.
