MONROE - Dr. Edward Finch will explore the careers of Jacob and John Henney, Daniel Stover and W. T. Raleigh, Stephenson County Industrialists who helped shape the history of this area, at the June 6 meeting of the Green County Genealogical Society.
Finch, former executive director of the Stephenson County Historical Society and Museum, is well-known in northern Illinois as an educator and historian. He authored the script for the 150th anniversary of the Lincoln-Douglas debates and a biography of a naval officer.
The Green County Genealogical Society meeting will be held at 10 a.m. June 6 in the second floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library. The free meeting is open to the public. There will be no GCGS meeting on July 4 due to the holiday.
