Fiber art fair set

CEDARVILLE - The 22nd annual Stephenson County Fiber Art Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14 at the Jane Addams Community Center, 430 W. Washington St. The Fiber Art Fair is a celebration of fiber and the fiber arts. Hands-on workshops will be available. Workshop registration will be available on the day of the Fiber Art Fair if space is available, but preregistration is recommended. Workshops are one to three hours long and the cost ranges.

Throughout the day the "To Dye For" dye kitchen will be available as a walk-in activity to dye yarn multiple colors. Students of all ages should plan to spend from 10 to 20 minutes to paint their own uniquely dyed skein of yarn.

The Drop Spindle Contest will take place at 1 p.m. Participants will learn the ancient art of spinning wool on a drop spindle, then can test their new skill with a contest. The Drop Spindle Contest is free, and prizes will be awarded. No experience is needed and participants will be separated by ages youth or adult and beginners or experienced.
