MONROE - Local farmer Gary Brugger, Green County, directed $2,500 to Albany FFA through America's Farmers Grow Communities. With the donation, the FFA will start construction of a new small animal lab facility.

America's Farmers Grow Communities launched in 2010, and has since donated over $13 million to more than 5,200 nonprofit organizations across the country. America's Farmers Grow Communities works directly with farmers to support nonprofit organizations working in rural communities. The program offers farmers the chance to win $2,500, which is then donated to the farmer's nonprofit of choice.

"I went to Albany High School and so did my son, grandson and granddaughter," said Brugger. "I am happy to direct this donation to the FFA, because the school has invested so much in my family."
