Extension plans industrial hemp meeting
UW extension

DARLINGTON — Those looking to grow industrial hemp or who are curious about the crop can attend the UW-Division of Extension and DATCP meeting to discuss the latest industrial hemp information. Research results from the 2019 growing season will be reviewed and an update from DATCP and market planning will be discussed.

The meeting is slated from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at the Lafayette County Multi-Purpose Building, 11974 Ames Rd., Darlington.

The U.S. Hemp market is currently immature which makes it unpredictable and risky to enter. UW-Madison CALS and UW-Division of Extension will continue to conduct Industrial Hemp research in 2020 across Wisconsin to provide predictable science based information.

Register for the meeting by emailing to joshua.kamps@wisc.edu or calling the Lafayette County Extension office at 608-776-4820. The event is free and drinks and snacks will be provided.
