Events and themes announced for this week's Homecoming

ALBANY - Albany Schools announced the 2012 Homecoming events. The theme is "Small Town Saturday Night."

On Friday, Sept. 21, Spirit Week began. The dress-up day theme was "We Are Hunting for a Victory." The colors for that day is camouflage/blaze orange.

On Monday, Sept. 24, the dress-up theme was "Barnyard Bash," for those who want to dress as their favorite farm animal.

Today, Tuesday, Sept. 25, the dress-up day event is "Welcome to the Comet Corral." Participants can dress as a cowboy/cowgirl.

On Wednesday, the entire high school goes to the American Players Theater in Spring Green. The juniors are selling homecoming T-shirts that the students are able to purchase and wear that day if they choose.

For Thursday, the dress-up day event is "Favorite Tractor Color Day," where each class has a color. Freshmen are International Harvester red, sophomores are Allis Chalmers orange, juniors are Ford blue and seniors are John Deere green.

On Friday, the dress-up day event is "We Are In the Mooo-d To Cheer On the Cow-mets." The event is a Comet Spirit Day for grades kindergarten through 12.

A pep assembly will be held from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Friday. There will be a teacher/staff/student Country Challenge. Skits and introduction of fall sports and homecoming court will take place. The crowning of the king and queen and the announcement of the Spirit Award will take place. Evansville football and band members will be the guests. The homecoming parade will leave at 2:30 p.m. from gym parking lot and go to Legion Park. Buses will leave from school at regular time.

On Saturday, the homecoming dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the school, 400 5th St. The price is $9 for high school students and $5 for spectators. The grand march will be at 8:30 p.m.
