MONROE - The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department has a few spots open in its engineering camp.
Robot Battles is for students entering grades three through seven this fall. The five-day camp will be from 9 a.m. to noon starting today and ending Friday. The fee is $160 for residents and $170 for non-residents.
During the camp, students will create, program and control robots designed to perform challenges such as the SumoBots Challenge, Jousting Challenge and Catapult Challenge. Students will use Lego Robotics and computers to learn principles of robotics, computer programming and teamwork.
All classes will be held in the old EMS building, 1821 12th St., Monroe. Register online or at the temporary Parks and Recreation office in the Streets Department, 1064 5th Ave., Monroe.
