Mark Schmitz, son of Mark and Lovice Schmitz, Monroe, and Alison Poulsen, daughter of Ralph and Patti Poulsen, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The future groom attended Madison Area Technical College where he studied health and fitness. He is continuing his education to pursue a career in radiology.

The future bride was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She is a graduate of Santa Barbara City College and attended Cal State San Marcos. She lives in San Diego, Calif.

The couple is planning a September 5 outdoor wedding at Lake Elmo, Minn.
