Katherine Leksander and Alec LaLonde, of Salt Lake City, Utah, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The-bride-to-be is the daughter of Ann Donovan (Hugh Bridgeford), of Urbana, Ill., and Dennis (Bernie) Leksander, Aurora, Colo. She is a 2001 graduate of Monroe High School, a 2005 gradate of the University of Colorado-Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in French and psychology, and a 2013 graduate of the University of Utah with a Master of Science in parks, recreation and tourism. She now works for the Utah Afterschool Network as an out-of-school time specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The groom-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in computer science. He is an independent software consultant.
An August wedding is planned. An engagement party will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at Twining Park, Monroe. The party is open to friends.
