MONROE - The Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at the Twining Park Bandshell. New this year: Children will not have to wait until everyone arrives.

As children arrive, they can go find their bag and eggs.

The hunt is for children in fourth grade or younger; they must be accompanied by an adult.

In case of inclement weather, bags will be handed out at the Monroe High School "M" Room.

Each child will receive a decorated white bag with three trinkets and three pieces of candy from the Kiwanis and an Easter basket and purple Easter bunny from Swiss Colony.

The Easter Basket Benefit will be held at the same time at the Twining Park bandshell.

Baskets will be filled with items including: gift certificates, shirts, cheese, or whatever the donators choose to fill them with.

The highest bidder for each basket will be announced at 1 p.m.

Proceeds from the Basket Benefit will be used for improvements at the Twining Park ball fields.

In case of inclement weather, the Basket Benefit will also be held in the "M" room.
