MONROE - The Wisconsin Lottery picked five canines that will star on the new Top Dog instant scratch tickets game that began in August. Out of the 2,375 submissions to the Wisconsin Top Dog Lottery Contest, Max, owned by Amber Erickson Parham, a Monroe native, was chosen as one of the five.
There were two weeks of submissions, followed by two weeks of voting. Winners were chosen based on the highest amount of votes.
As part of the contest, the Lottery will be making a $1,000 donation to the Wisconsin Humane Society, which is the state's largest shelter.
The owners received a $100 VISA gift card, a framed sample Lottery ticket featuring their pet and $20 worth of Top Dog instant scratch tickets.
Top Dog Tickets can be purchased in Monroe.
Parham is a 1999 Monroe High School graduate.
