Matt Stackpole, a 2001 graduate of Monroe High School and 2005 graduate of Lawrence University, recently received his Ph.D. in math from the University of Colorado, Boulder, as well as being recognized by the department as the outstanding teaching assistant. He has accepted the position of assistant professor of math at Georgia Gwinnett College, Lawrenceville, Ga.

Stackpole is the son of Joan and Brian Stackpole, Monroe.
